Mac OS X is one of the best operating systems on the market – in fact, many claim that it is the absolute best as it combines an elegant and simple interface that anyone can start using right away, a lot of advanced features under the hood (courtesy of its Unix/BSD roots) and a wide range of excellent third party software that has no match on other platforms.
The new Retina MacBook Pro is out and the Retina display has people talking. Like the iPhone 4 and iPad 3 before it, now the MacBook Pro has an upgraded display as well. This display elevates the laptop to a level it’s never reached before. You can’t say it looks like a high definition television – because it’s better than that. The resolution on the new Retina laptops is a whopping 2880 x 1800 pixels. That’s a total of 5.18 million pixels jammed into a 15.4 inch screen.
With OS X Mountain Lion nearing its release date, it’s a good time to dive right into the new features and see what’s new in version 10.8. Before I get started, OS X Mountain Lion will be available this July for the low price of $19.99 from the Mac App Store.
